Han Yi Partner Anna Yu has recently been invited by China Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (“CVCA”), a leading industry association in China’s PE & VC community, to give a training lecture on exit via M&As by PE/VC funds for CVCA’s 2017 China Venture Capital and Private Equity Management Course Series. Most participants in the course series are mid- to senior level business and management personnel from leading PE & VC funds and other professional investment institutions. Ms. Yu has been actively practicing for over 10 years in the areas of PE & VC investments and M&A transactions, and has handled quite a few large-scale complicated transactions in this field involving both cross-border and domestic structures. In her lecture session, Ms. Yu shared with the audience her rich professional experience in a typical exit via trade sale/M&A for PE & VC funds, including, among others, major preparatory work for the exit, key transaction terms, and various important compliance matters. The lecture was received warmly and positively.
As an industry expert, Han Yi was invited by CVCA’s board of governors to participate in the whole process of this liaison project and has been actively engaged in providing legal analysis and advice to CVCA’s governors and secretaries, assisting with preparation and revisions of the relevant CVCA position paper, and raising questions and proposals as a CVCA representative member as well as a special counsel to the Association. The meeting discussion provided a good opportunity to facilitate direct communications and mutual understanding between regulators and the major market players of the industry, and will have a constructive influence on an improved regulatory environment for the PE industry. Han Yi is honored to have been involved in this process to make its fair contributions to the healthy development of China’s PE industry.
